Ibex is 12mm higher on the leg than Mudee and has our new HillGrip outsole with a deeper tread pattern for grip in the mud and on steeper ground.

Description
A little more generous than our older styles, in general people will stay with their ‘average’ EU size.
The length and width of the insole of this shoe is as below. The actual inside of the shoe is a little larger than the insole both length (maybe by 2-4mm) and width/volume (maybe by 1-3mm). Fit is personal, but most people will prefer to have at least 5 or 7mm spare room in front of your largest toe(s). USA sizing is below the European:

Hand wash with luke warm water and mild detergent. Air dry – never place near heat. Freet premium leather will benefit from a high quality, natural gentle water based treatment to ‘condition’, maintain ‘suppleness’ and water resistance. Nikwax is recommended. Ibex is an ultra light duty barefoot shoe not designed for professional or arduous use or extreme climates.

Hello, I’ve found the Freet Ibex to be perfect for me – supremely comfortable and just the right width for wearing with thicker socks.
I also like the fact that the shoes are leather and can be polished (is that very old fashioned?)
When wearing these shoes I feel my balance is much improved and I do feel much more stable when covering uneven terrain.

I have just discovered the concept of barefoot shoes and, as my old walking boots were falling apart, I took the plunge and ordered a pair of Freet Ibex. They are wonderful! As background I should explain that whenever I have bought walking boots in the past I have spent hours in specialist walking shops with sales assistants running backwards and forwards, offering variations on a theme of boots that didn’t fit. (I mean no insult, these were excellent assistants in some of the most revered walking shops in the country.) Whether I sized up or not, whether I switched to men’s styles or not, [allegedly] my size 6 very wide feet felt constrained and the boots I ended up with were a compromise. After a day’s walking I usually had sore little toes, sore big toe joints and sore knees. I was doubtful about buying walking boots over the internet but when I tried the Ibex on I wanted to dance! They are so light, so flexible, so comfortable and — blissfully — so wide. My first walk in them was heaven. Thank you so much for making these excellent boots. (In case it is helpful, my longest foot is 256 mm long — measured in the way Freet suggests — and 10.5 mm wide. I went for the size 42 as I knew I would want to wear thick socks, possibly two pairs, and would need toe space for descending hills. I am very happy with the sizing.)
