What is a 'barefoot' shoe?

Our shoes are designed to allow your feet to move naturally.  All our shoes have a wide toebox to allow toes to move and spread naturally, no heel (zero drop) and a fully flexible outsole.  More information can be found here: https://freetbarefoot.com/eu/barefoot-shoes/

What is the difference between our 4+1 (split toe) and 5in1 (regular toe) shoes?

Our 4+1 shoes have a separate pocket for the big toe.  This allows your big toe to function independently, helping it to condition and strengthen naturally.  These tend to have a more glove like feel. 

5in1 shoes have no separation between the toes. 

Which outsole should I choose?

We currently have 3 outsoles

GripPlus – suitable for trail use. This compound and grip layout gives superb traction for the trail. Available on some 5in1 and all 4+1 styles.

MultiGrip – proven grip & durability for road, pavement and gym use. Also effective on better quality, less steep trail.

EasyGrip – excellent connectivity. Suitable for smoother surfaces outside and indoors including travel and everyday.

What size do I need?

Please note that all our shoes fit slightly differently – please scroll down and click on the sizing and fitting tab on each individual product page to see the specific information for each shoe. 

How do I know if my shoes fit?

Fit is a matter of personal preference – some people like their shoes snug while others prefer a more relaxed fit.  When you receive your shoes spend some time, wearing them indoors to get used to them and decide whether they are right for you.  Be aware that if you are used to more ‘conventional’ shoes, you might initially feel that the shoes feel a bit unstructured.  This will soon wear off and your feet will appreciate their new found freedom to spread and move naturally.  Another point to remember is that the flexibility of the outsole means that the shoes move with your feet which means you can wear them looser without causing blisters. 

How do I order online?

It’s easy to shop safely and securely on our website: 

  • Browse the website and simply click on the items you’d like to buy
  • Select your size and click ‘Add to basket’
  • When you’re ready to complete your order, click on ‘My basket’
  • Select the delivery option you’d like and click ‘Checkout’
  • You will then be taken to our secure checkout where you’ll be asked to fill in your address and payment details or simply login if you already have an account
  • We send you an email to confirm your order once payment has been confirmed

Can I track my order?

Yes, once your shoes are dispatched, you will be able to track your delivery.  You will be sent a tracking number, so you will know when your Freets will arrive.

Do I need an account to order?

You do not need to set up an account to order and can checkout as a guest.  If you do set up an account, however, you can log in to see the status of your order.

How do I clean my shoes?

If Freet shoes are dirty on the outside, you can wipe them with a damp cloth.

If you wish to wash out the inside, use lukewarm water with a mild detergent.  Pour a little water into the shoes and using your finger, gently rub around to remove any dirt.  Rinse with clean lukewarm water, empty out and dry away from direct heat.  You could put some newspaper inside the shoes to speed up drying time.

What happens if my shoes don't fit or I do not like them?

When you get your shoes, try them on indoors to get used to them.  If they do not suit, there is no problem with returning for an exchange or refund.  Please follow the instructions below: https://freetbarefoot.com/eu/shipping-and-returns/

What products should I use to care for my Freets?

Gentle, waterbased, products, such as thise made by Nikwax are recommended for conditioning and waterproofing. See each product page for specific information for that particular style of shoe.

There is a problem with my shoes

We always look to be reasonable and fair in resolving any problem you have with our products – just get in touch (freet@freet.uk). We will look at each issue individually. We prefer not to put an arbitrary time limit on warranty.

Our priority in these difficult times is the health and wellbeing of our customers & our employees. We follow the advice from the World Health Organisation as well as local & national government and health authorities and as an online retailer we continue to operate.

There are currently no despatch delays.

Deliveries

Deliveries continue as normal. We receive daily updates from our couriers regarding delivery service issues and will update this page with the latest major updates. We & our couriers know you will exercise patience & understanding if your delivery does not arrive exactly on schedule due to circumstances beyond our control.

UK

All couriers are operating a normal service, but, as you would expect there may be some isolated delays, particularly during peak period from mid November up to Christmas. Deliveries to Northern Ireland are currently experiencing some delays.

All couriers are delivering contact free. Parcels will be handed over remotely to maintain distancing rules. Where the service requires signature, the courier will sign on your behalf so you do not have contact with the POD device and photograph the parcel at the delivery point.

Europe

Delivery to all countries, but some delays of up to 48 hours.

There may some restrictions imposed in some countries, such as no delivery to shops or business addresses from time to time. These restrictions may change on a daily basis and you will have the most up to date information regarding your own country’s policy. We ask that you respect these restrictions when ordering to avoid your parcel being delayed / lost.

International

Delivery to all countries, but, as you would expect, there will be some delays depending on the destination country.
