Sizes 36-49 Chukka is a little smaller than an ‘average’ size. You are likely to need to go to the next larger size.
Wt. 490 grams pair size 42
You will need to go one size larger than your ‘normal’ EU shoe size. If you prefer a ‘roomy’ fit, then go two sizes larger.
The length and width of the insole of this shoe is as below. Remember the shoe has good volume in the forefoot so the actual comfortable width of this shoe will be a few mm greater than this ‘flat’ measurement. Fit is personal, but most people will prefer to have at least 4 or 5mm spare room in front of your largest toe(s). USA sizing is below the European:

I usually don’t write reviews, but these shoes deserve one!
Pros:
– very comfortable! As soon as I received them I tried them one and the foamy lining felt so good I also tried them without socks. These are my first barefoot shoes and I could walk 1h30 before getting a blister (not used to doing this yet). Even though, I could still wear them the day after without pain. I is basically like walking barefoot on a foam yoga mat.
– very affordable compared to other barefoot shoes and all the materials are good quality.
– I could test these shoes on all kinds of roads and really felt the texture of the concrete, the rocks, etc…
– Good client service
– They are vegan
Cons:
– the sizing! I usually wear 46 for shoes and 47 for running shoes but I had to order these in 49! Buyers, measure your feet and rely on that instead of ordering a size up compared to your ordinary shoes. Mainly my fault here…
I wish you also made formal shoes with the same lining. All barefoot formal shoes are crazy expensive, probably not as comfortable and definitely not vegan. Anyway, I will certainly order again and will definitely recommend this brand!

Do not ignore the size warnings. My feet fit very nicely into Fivefingers KSO size 43 and Vivo Scotts size 43. Ordered these in a 44 in there as per the “order one size up” advice. I Could get my feet in, just, but could not get my toes to lie flat. Much too small. Given how small they were, I opted for a replacement in size 46, which fit very nicely when they arrived. I don’t think a 45 would be better, but who knows?
Lovely shoes though – nice wide toe box, super comfortable and warm.

First, a warning on size: I wear a UK 10/10.5 and many companies translate this to an EU 44. The Chukka page said to size up, so I ordered a 45. Sadly, the shoes that arrived said UK 10 / EU 45 on the tongue, and were too small for my feet. I returned them for 46, which fortunately fit me very nicely.
Sizing issue dealt with, these have quickly become my new favourite do-it-all shoes, surpassing my previous favourites (Lem’s Boulder Boot). I’ve used them for everything from walking round town to walking on the moor in the pouring rain.
For hiking across wet and muddy ground, I’ve been wearing them with Injinji liners and Sealskinz waterproof socks. The Chukkas have a synthetic lining, so when some water inevitably gets in they dry quickly.
The Chukkas have an incredibly sticky sole, which is pretty much non-slip; I feel totally safe scrambling up a tor or over granite boulders, which is dangerous in most wide toebox shoes I’ve owned.
I’m so impressed with these that I’ve just ordered some Mudees! I’ll probably still use the Chukkas for summer hiking, though, as they’ve been incredibly comfortable to walk in.
Cheers Freet. You’re my new favourite shoe company and I’ll definitely be back for more in future.

Thanks for the feedback Harry – we’re working on the sizing! Mudee should fit a little more generously than Chukka (maybe by about half an EU size), all the best, Andrew

For me, buying shoes is an almighty pain. Apart from requiring something barefoot and vegan that protects me from at least a UK autumn, I also happen to have unusually wide feet with wide toe spacing (from years of barefoot shoes). To make matters worse my feet are also sensitive to lacing and creases so as you can imagine my choices are very limited!
Fortunately. these Chukkas fit the bill perfectly. Like all the Freet shoes I’ve tried, their design, build quality and features are well ahead of the competition. The soles especially have great tread and traction and they somehow balance being thin enough to be “barefoot” yet still absorbing some of the shock from walking in the concrete jungle.
The only (very minor) negatives are that the padding around the top could be a bit softer and the taper of the toe box is such that I had to go up a size from 43 to 44. If your feet aren’t super wider they might be sized correctly.
All in all, though, an excellent shoe. Strongly recommended!

I love these boots. They look good and feel good. I haveput in miles everyday since i got these a few weeks ago. My only gripe is the water resistance seems hit and miss. I was out the other day and got caught in a 5 min downpour and my right foot was dry and my left foot had wet toes. Other than that these boot are amazing and i am hoping to buy another pair of muddees in future as i love the freet brand.

“Practically perfect in every way”!
I literally chuckled with glee when I open the box and realised that here (at last!) were some cool-looking canvas boots that were actually going to give my wide feet the space they need and want.
And then I started wearing them … and not only are they super-light and foot-shaped comfortable, but the Poron insole was a very pleasant surprise. it gives a sort of slipper-like cushioning AND allows excellent ‘barefoot’ feel of the ground beneath. I don’t know how it can do both at the same time, but the result is a shoe that gives my feet a sort of joyful bounce. I totally new shoe experience!
Looks-wise, I love the colour (goes with everything) and interesting fabric uppers, and they’re funky enough to wear with a frock (another huge plus for us women as most ‘barefoot shoes are sporty stylee/hiking boots/ugly/weird).
The rubber ‘bumper’ gives a good bit of protection to the front. I did wonder if a boot would constrict ankle mobility, but haven’t found this to be an issue, and they stay on perfectly well even though I only lace them up loosely.
As usual with Freet, the sizing is a bit hit-and miss, and I had to return for a larger size (I’m a fairly standard 38/5 but I need a size 40 in these).
I’m seriously chuffed with the Chukka, and have already got myself a second pair (one for ‘town’, one for knocking about the countryside in).
Just waiting for the leather/suede version now …

Freet Chukka: Comfiest casual barefoot shoes (Expert Reviews.co.uk)
The Freet Chukka are extremely versatile shoes, as at home on a city pavement as a long country trek. Above all, though, they’re just incredibly comfortable. Walking around London on a wet winter’s day, I felt as though I was wearing slippers, not shoes.
Despite that warm, cosy feeling, the Chukka has some proper outdoor credentials, including a stretchy water-resistant microfiber upper and Freet’s durable MultiGrip2 outsole, which provides traction on wet and muddy surfaces. Apart from the toe rand (part of the sole which extends over the toebox) the Chukkas also look like relatively normal shoes, so they won’t draw too much notice from the non-barefoot crowd.
