This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.
Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Comfortable and ideal for running on hard surfaces

I've only had my Pace for a fortnight but I am very happy so far with regards to how they are performing for their intended use - jogging on pavement.

Great everyday shoe

I decided to write reviews for a couple of different Freet shoes that I own, having appreciated the reviews of others on this and other sites, including Anya's Reviews (which I highly recommend for anyone looking to buy barefoot shoes). I bought a pair of EU45-sized Pace 1 shoes in black in July 2025. I use them for everyday wear around where I live - city pavements but also the paths, with both good and rough surfaces, in the local parks and open spaces. These shoes are extremely comfortable, and I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to others for daily wear. For a barefoot shoe, they look quite "normal", and I would go so far as to say that they are a handsome shoe. Also nicely-designed, well-made and lightweight. I am not sure how waterproof they are, and I wouldn't necessarily want to wear them on long hikes or anywhere they would be likely to get muddy (from a cleaning and appearance perspective), but they seem more or less showerproof. For everyday use, though, these can be confidently recommended.

Great shoe, more half-sizes would be nice

I am enjoying walking in the Freet Pace. I do wish there would be more half-sizes, though, as I had to round up to a whole size.

This is the second time I purchase Pace shoe's

This is the second time I purchase Pace shoe's. The first pair I purchased in 2021 and they are almost worn out. It has been the best pair of shoes I ever had. It feels like not to wear any shoes at all. I wear them everyday except when the weather is wet.
