Foot-shape forefoot

The Freet shape mirrors the shape of our feet allowing the toes to spread and flex naturally.

Connectivity

Whilst providing essential protection, the Freet midsole & outsole enables feet to come alive as they receive and respond to stimulus from the ground.

Flexible uppers

Our soft and flexible uppers are designed to fit like a glove enabling the foot and shoe to work as one. This liberates all the muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones to move and function freely

Upper

CoffeeYarn

Made from re-cycled coffee grounds which are milled into nanometer size powder. This is then used to create a polyester-like spinning fluid before processing into a flyknit thread. The material is naturally antibacterial (coffee!), quick drying and durable. A superb comfortable high-performance sports and everyday material.

BottleYarn

Made from re-cycled post consumer plastic bottles. We create pellets from which we extrude a filament for weaving our yarn. BottleYarn is tough, breathable and comfortable to wear. Another great performance sports and everyday material.

Durable and ultra-breathable our recycled CoffeYarn and BottleYarn upper materials are suitable for a broad range of activities.

All Year Round

Weather proof materials. Everyday all-weather insulation. Three different types:

Microfibre

We use our third generation of our microfibre. This is a polyester-based close weave material which is highly water resistant, breathable, extremely strong and comfortable to wear. It is also easy ‘wipe clean’. Like leather it does need a good quality proofer/conditioner to keep the material supple and water resistant.

Water Proof Lined Mesh

These Freet BottleYarn close weave materials are lined with a water proof breathable lining to increase the level of water proofing.

Leather and Recycled Leather

Premium full grain leather made from the ‘top-split’ best quality hides. These make superb comfortable, durable shoes. We treat the leather to create a water resistant finish. Our recycled leather is made from second-use premium leather parts combined with a little PU to create a high grade upper material.

Insole (insock)

ConnectComfort

Effective shock absorbing foam technology from Ortholite and Flexile will continue to respond and cushion the impact for far longer than traditional EVAs. More performance with less material our standard 3mm Ortholite and Flexile insoles leaves you better connected with the ground.

ConnectComfort+

Our world-leading shock absorbing foam technology from Ortholite offers a 6mm depth which will shock absorb and shape to your foot whilst maintaining good ground contact.

ConnectMax

For the closest connectivity with the ground, many of our shoes enable you to wear without the insole providing our highest level of ground sensory feedback. Our later waterproof styles have a full ‘bootee’ waterproof lining - removing the insole from these will mean your foot is on the waterproof lining and may wear through the lining over time, and therefore not recommended.

Midsole

We use a system of 3 midsole types depending on shoe/boot and use and intended use:

SoftFlex

We use a thin (1.5mm) textile material between the rubber outsole and removable insole to give full flexibility and maximum ground contact. SoftFlex midsole has a breathable mesh overlay on the top surface to allow the foot to be comfortable if you prefer to remove the insole to be closer to the ground.

Can be worn with RockPlate 2 for additional protection on rougher surfaces.

Ideal for smoother surfaces in town or country.

MidFlex (medium flex)

This midsole is made from fibre/EVA to offer excellent flexibility combined with a little protection for the foot. Ideal for trail surfaces as well as urban. MidFlex midsole has a breathable mesh overlay on the top surface to allow the foot to be comfortable if you prefer to remove the insole to be closer to the ground (non-waterproof membrane styles).

Can be worn with RockPlate 2 for additional protection on rougher surfaces.

Ideal for a mix of surfaces, smooth and more rough.

FirmFlex

Made from nylon, this midsole is firmer to give more protection on arduous terrain.

FirmFlex midsole has a breathable mesh overlay on the top surface to allow the foot to be comfortable if you prefer to remove the insole to be closer to the ground (non-waterproof membrane styles).

Ideal for rugged, off track surfaces.

Outsole

MountainGrip

Rubber outsole with 6 mm lugs for tougher, wetter trails and off track. Sidewall stitched to the upper for increased durability (non-waterproof styles only).

HillGrip

Rubber outsole with 4 mm lugs and pattern designed for good traction on harder and softer trail surfaces.

TrailGrip

Rubber outsole with 3 mm lugs ideal for a wide variety of good quality trails.

UrbanGrip

Rubber outsole with 3.0 mm wide-area tread for optimum grip and durability on urban surfaces.

GripPlus

Rubber outsole with 2.5 mm tread pattern suitable for good quality trails and everyday.

MultiGrip

Rubber outsole with 2.5 mm tread pattern / lug designed to give grip and durability on urban surfaces also effective on good quality trails.

EasyGrip

Excellent connectivity. Suitable for smoother surfaces outside and indoors including travel and everyday.
