Sizing True (ii)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

No grip

The shoes are well made and durable, but the outsole is completely useless in anything but dry surfaces. I've had already enough slips and falls as to ever use them again. It's not just about wet roots or other difficult surfaces for any other shoe, it's just easy terrain with just a bit of wet, and it all becomes like slippery ice. Might be using hard enough rubber so it last very long, but what's the point if it doesn't have any grip at all, they end up being useless, at least for me, I only use them now for easy walks on dry forests, but will never again run with these, I had enough falls already

Best all terrain running shoe I've owned

I run in all different types of terrain and places all over the world. Rough unmaintained back roads in the country and cobblestone streets of Europe. The aggressive tread does not disappoint and the light weight design feels amazing. I have found my go to shoes for running and look forward to trying the other styles for everyday wear.

100km of joy so far

Have run 100km in these and so far I'd say they were bloody brilliant. Nice and wide, very comfortable with great grip and flexibility.
