Sizing True (i)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.
Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Love the shoes, not the tongue

I love the shoes, but can't use them for hiking due to the tongue not being sewn on the sides. Debris and rocks will get inside of the shoe. I wish that I noticed this before wearing them outside.

Good shoe....bad tounge

I have been a part of the barefoot shoe movement for a long time and have tried a lot of brands, some good some....well not good! The Feldom is a solid shoe...a bit tighter in the toe box than Lems. I appreciate the no charge shipping and easy returns! The tongue is awful....will not stay in place etc. I bought the black color and what ever the body is constructed of is a dirt magnet.

My feet's best mates!

My feet's best mates! As a professional dog walker and keen trail runner, the feldoms get the most wear of all my shoes. They're insanely comfortable straight out the box and work in almost all weather except when it's very cold and wet. The feldoms have amazing grip in the mud, on rocks, in wet grass, on steep hills... You can tell they have been designed for the most challenging British walks and runs. As I prefer low shoes (as opposed to boots) for the "warmer" seasons, these are perfect for almost every activity. One downside is that you'll get wet feet walking through wet grass if you don't wear waterproof socks. Walking on trails in light rain the feldoms are surprisingly water resistant though. However once they're wet, they'll take a full day to dry even with newspapers stuffed into them. I took my regular size in these and they fit perfectly. I like that they're so light, my feet get much less tired if at all. Also it's great they're vegan and unisex! Overall I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting to try barefoot shoes. You won't regret it (just be prepared to take all your other shoes to the charity shop!) :)

Feldom ticked every box as well as being flexible and comfortable

I wanted a pair of walking shoes to take on holiday to Lanzarote with good grip but without being a full hiking boot. I bought a pair of grey/black Feldom and they were perfect. The walks in Lanzarote are hot and dry but tend to be quite rugged and so you need good grip as well a breathability. Feldom ticked every box as well as being flexible and comfortable. I really love them and can't wait to try them on walks in the UK

I absolutely LOVE them.

I've put these through the ringer hiking in Colorado with them the past 2 years. I absolutely LOVE them. The lugs / grip are great. The fit is great and they actually have a wide toe box. They do run big though. In Altras I wear a US10 and in these I wear a 42 (US 8). I can't say enough good things about them. I'm glad they got a more neutral black / grey now too as an option. I just bought the Flex as they seem to be the non trail equivalent and I'm psyched for those as well.
