This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
Start at the heel.
Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

I just love putting these on. So comfortable and like my other barefoot shoes have contributed to the improvement in my knee injury.

The quality is just not there - Updated from the original positive review.

Updated review from May 8th, 2026:

The quality of the shoe proved to be sub-par. It's not even been two months and I can toss them in the trash bin.

- The insole wore out after 4 weeks of wearing the shoes.
- These are NOT BAREFOOT. The sole is poorly constructed with some of the lugs intentionally hollowed out to make the shoe lighter (or so, Freet says)
-The centre lugs under the heel are hollow with some tiny support trusses of rubber instead of solid rubber (see attached Photoshopped image). This causes the sole to dig through the inner lining and into your feet (I understand that this is a recent design change).
- They made the part of the shoe that takes the most weight it's weakest point. I find it to be a baffling design idea for a BAREFOOT boot and can't fathom how this wasn't fixed in the development process.
- They cause severe heel pain when worn with or without the insole and are not fit for purpose - I've not encountered this with any other barefoot shoe brands and I've been wearing them for a while now. Initially I found them to be very comfortable, but due to the bad design they deteriorated rapidly.
- Freet claim that this was done to make the shoe lighter (see screenshot of the message received from Freet attached). I believe this to be untrue and an attempt to explain a bad design choice. A few bits of rubber wouldn't make much difference in the weight anyway.
- On a positive note I received a full refund for the shoes, so can't fault the customer service.

Very comfortable. The Flexile insole does a great job at shock absorption . They feel like you're wearing slippers all day.

My feet do get warm and sweaty in them so I wouldn't say they are "highly" breathable (at least not for me - but this could also be the case of my feet needing to get used to the bottle yarn mesh fabric) but it doesn't bother me that much.

Wish the other colours were available in my size but the black will do for now.

How much is shipping?

Shipping costs £3.50 to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Shipping to Isle of Mann is £5.00.

Shipping to England and Wales is with DPD 24 hour. Shipping to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Isle of Mann shipping is with Evri 1-2 days.

Where are shoes shipped from?

All orders to customers in the UK are sent from our warehouse in England.
