Sizing True (ii)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Comfiest cosiest boots EVER

These are the comfiest, cosiest boots I have ever worn!!! I always think the mark of a good shoe is to forget you are even wearing them because your feet are so comfy and warm and these do exactly that!. I love the micro fleece lining. I have been wearing them in the muddy London parks but they definitely feel durable enough for hills / mountains aswell.

Great pair of boots

Such a good pair of boots- well made, wide toe box, roomy and comfortable. Sized up as my feet didn’t conform to the size chart recommendations. Initially was a bit concerned as felt my feet were quite sweaty in them, but they settled after 2 days of wearing in… not sure why, but all good now!

Yes they’re comfy and waterproof

Yes they’re comfy and waterproof, but I am finding my feet get sweaty if worn for any length of time, which is not great.

Warm, Waterproof and Comfortable

I bought these having suffered chilly toes in my Tundras on a sub-zero evening showing friends the starry night for a couple of hours. Not quite as bedroom-slipper-comfortable as the Tundras, but still the sort of comfort that, after les than a minute you're not conscious of somethign on our feet. These are much more like "conventional" boots, in that you don't have quite the ground-feel that you get wite all my other barefoot shoes (but still better than "normal"walking boots) - but that is part of what enables them to be warmer.

So far, they seem robust, waterproof - and, with thick socks, sufficiently warm down to at least -5°C. Much below that, and I can resort to my Kamiks.

Warm, sturdy with lots of space for toes.
