From Icon to Innovation

The original Bootee first appeared over a decade ago and quickly became a fan favourite for its light, breathable feel and signature barefoot flexibility. Since then, we’ve refined every element including the design, materials and fit to create the Bootee 2, our most capable version yet.

Version two isn’t just a refresh, it’s a rebuild from the ground up. It involves a more durable waterproof system, improved grip and a refined fit that hugs the heel and instep while keeping the roomy toe box you expect from Freet.

Bootee 2’s upper is made from BottleYarn, our recycled fabric woven from post-consumer plastic bottles. This soft-finish material is completely vegan, highly breathable, and treated with a PFC-free water-repellent coating that’s kind to the planet.

Inside, we’ve added a new Rudolf waterproof and breathable membrane - keeping your feet dry while allowing natural ventilation. It’s ideal for year-round wear, from mild winter walks to cool, damp summer hikes.

We’ve spent years testing and evolving our HillGrip outsole over many surfaces across the globe - wet grass, loose rock, and muddy trails.

The result is a unique 4 mm-lug hybrid pattern that grips on soft terrain yet feels stable on hardpack paths and pavements.

Made with over 60% natural rubber, this sole balances flexibility, traction, and durability for true barefoot performance with reliable grip in all conditions.
