This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

I am so happy with these boots

I am so happy with these boots. To date, without taping my heels, I would always get blisters very soon into a walk wearing conventional walking boots. So far, I have walked over 40 mile of the South West Coast Path (in four days), my feet feel great, stayed dry though a boggy bit, and I feel secure on slopes.

Wunderbare Boots

Wunderbare Boots. Viel Platz in der Zehenbox (hab Gr. 40 gewählt (Meine Standard Größe ist 39)um sich mit dickeren Socken gut Platz zu haben. (Richmond in Gr. 39 ist manchmal etwas knapp, wenn der Fuß sich bei Wärme etwas ausdehnt) ob der Schuh wirklich wasserdicht ist, konnte ich noch nicht ausprobieren. Der große Einsatz kommt dann im Norwegenurlaub in den Bergen! Freu mich drauf😊

Sturdy yet still barefoot

Sturdy for a barefoot shoe yet still a barefoot shoe. Sole is substantial enough to protect nicely from stones. Looks good enough to use for commuting to work with dry and comfy feet.

Very comfortable, warm and DRY!
Yes, they truly are waterproof.

Even though I measured my foot and used the provided size guide table shoes turned out to be slightly too big but I prefer a bit too big rather than too small so that's not an issue.

On some surfaces, especially when wet, the soles are not grippy and I have to be careful not to slip.

Otherwise, they're everything I expected!

Love them!

I bought these to have something comfortable for dog walking as I am quite fed up with wearing heavy wellies to tackle the constant mud fest around Mid Wales. So far they have been absolutely amazing, and have surpassed my expectations.
Comfortable, light, and fit my wide feed perfectly. They also have excellent grip on most surfaces: everything except deep mud and smooth wet rock has been no problem so far.
Only once after 2 hours of walking through bog and waterlogged fields and crossing a stream did the boots feel a bit damp inside.
Fingers crossed I can get a couple of muddy seasons out of them.
