Sizing True (i)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.
Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

So comfortable!

I’m an adult who wears kid sizes. These are so much more comfortable right out of the box than my VivoBarefoot shoes, which take some breaking in to get the toe box wide enough.

Saguaro shoes are comfortable but material doesn’t feel supportive enough. Also, the kid colors/designs are wild… fun for hitting the trail but not a good look with jeans.

Fleet is the Goldilocks of shoes for me! Wide, grippy sole, support enough while soft and flexible and solid colors.

Now, if they would make one in black with a white sole, the shoe would be stylish enough to wear everywhere! The dark blue with white sole is ok but they were out of my size. Black on black makes me look like I’m heading to a food service job… practical but not stylish.

Love these shoes for trails, now just need a black version with white sole for everyday wear!

Kid Loves Them - Could be more durable

Just bought a second pair of the Flex Juniors for my almost 8-year-old. I was nervous at first that they weren't secure enough on his feet - they do fly off sometimes when he kicks a ball, but they still became his go to shoes. I think it's partly because of the slip-on convenience, but clearly he finds them comfortable. And though they started to rip around seams/develop a hole in the insole sooner than I would have liked, I will admit that my kid basically runs everywhere he goes like Forrest Gump and so probably subjects them to more wear than most. He kept happily wearing them until they were basically falling apart.

felt great except for rubbing on my heel

I'm an adult with size eu36 and the appearance and size is great, the soles are super light, grippy, mobile and the shoe itself slips on and off nicely.

But for me the back of the heel fangs oddly hard and high into the achilles in a way that's never not going to blister, and ideally my pinky toes would have just a smidge more space for when running. Also (very minor point) one of the laces was loose out of it's plastic doodad so I have returned them. I may try some other freets as this was tantalizingly close to perfect.

Great everyday shoe

I was looking for a barefoot shoe for my first grader in the middle range of pricing. He requested something all black and not the standard velcro style you see in many barefoot brands. The Flex Junior checked all the boxes. They look sporty and also have the barefoot shape and flexibility I was looking for.

The shoes came quickly and my picky son appreciated the appearance and comfort. I would rate the style and quality at least as good as the name brand mainstream shoes in the same price range. There is already some wear and tear showing within two weeks but I predict these will still last long enough for little brother to wear next. I'm tempted to get the adult size for myself!
