The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits small to size; if you sometimes have to go up a size, it is more likely that you may need to go up a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Comfort at last

I have been wearing tight heels and low shoes for decades and at lat I get a shoe that gives my poor toes some freedom. Feels wonderful for the toes while securely gripping at the heels. thats for your research on this and your creations. i got the Nimbus as a first pair but am now looking toward winter and wondering what my next pair should be in the slush and cold of winter.

most comfortable Freet shoes I own

I have four different styles of Freet shoes, and the Nimbus is the most comfortable for me. It took a bit of wearing in for the microfiber to "give" on the top of my feet just a tiny bit, but once it did, the shoes fit my feet like a glove. I find that the Nimbus sole and insole offer me the perfect amount of cushion to keep me comfortable no matter how far I walk or how long I am standing, yet I can still feel the terrain below.

Nice to feel the earth beneath my feet

I feel much more in touch with the ground now that I can feel it more with these shoes. I never liked having shoes with heels and felt they affected my legs and back. I'm hoping to see improvement in these areas.. The only drawback so far is that the Nimbus I got feels a bit loose around the heel. This is not a huge drawback but it is a bit concerning.

great shoes

I bought these in a 6.5 after reading the reviews which said the come up a bit small. I'm usually a 6/39. I have the York 2 in a 6. These fit really well. They are very comfy and can be worn with a range of outfits. Thanks very much for a very good show.
