Sizing True (ii)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Just love these and haven’t had them off my feet since I got them

Just love these and haven’t had them off my feet since I got them. Easy to take on and off, soooo comfortable and just a joy to wear. However, I have found them to be a little slippy in the wet but apart from that nothing to fault

Comfy but has loose stitching

Just received these and they’re incredibly comfortable. I tried on (and promptly returned) the Zennor 1 a couple of years ago, and these are a definite upgrade! Much wider, and the upper fabric is softer and more flexible. I usually wear a 40 or 41, and the 41 on these fit me better since they’re a little wider for my very wide feet, without being too long. But if your feet are narrow to moderately wide and you like a closer fitting shoe, going with your regular size might work.

My one complaint is that the stitching that holds the sole on is coming undone on the front. Given the location right at the end of the toes, I imagine it will not hold up if I stub my toe or scrape that part of the shoe on rocks. Hoping to exchange them for a pair without issues as they’re otherwise awesome.

Good and not so good, and I've not warn them yet

I have not warn them yet. They look good but the size was far too generous. I measured my feet and ordered appropriately, but they are too big. The return process seems simple enough and communication has been good.
Exchange for a smaller size was not possible so I have to return for a refund, and then reorder.
However the return cost 5 eur and I now find that the new order will cost 70 euro rather than 60 euro for some reason, and I also lose the new customer discount. Irritatingly this means the cost of the shoes has effectively gone up in excess of 18 euro which is not so good!!!

improvement from Zennor to Z 2

My son had the previous Zennor, he has very high instep feet and sensory issues, and they were the only sandals he found comfortable to wear. The only problem was that the sole came off at the toes after a while. The Zennor 2 have fixed that with stitching, we were delighted to find! I cant say much about the durability as only just got them, but the previous was a hardwearing, comfortable sandal, now even more durable - thank you team!

A great thing

A great thing. That's my 2nd pair. I found it very durable, easily washable and comfortable. Good for hiking, everyday summer walks and even running.
