"I bought Bootee 2 (my first barefoot hiking boots) a few days before my hiking trip in Patagonia. Because of them, I was able to do a lot of hiking every day; it wouldn't have been possible in normal boots as I was previously getting a lot of pain in the balls of my feet. The grip on dry surfaces is exceptional, I was jumping on steep stones like a mountain goat. I was lucky and had nice weather all the time in Patagonia, so I can't comment on how waterproof the boots are nor how good the grip is on wet surfaces but I had no blisters, not even one!!! They are also very easy to clean after a hike. The boots protected my ankles in terms of banging on the rocks and tree trunks."

"I wore the Freet Tundra barefoot shoes to hike up Snowdon in October, and they were brilliant. The weather was very wet — especially near the top — but my feet stayed dry and the grip was excellent, so I never felt like I was slipping. They were incredibly comfortable throughout the climb, even hiking with my three dogs. A fantastic barefoot hiking shoe that handled tough conditions with ease. My feet felt supported without stiffness you often get with traditional hiking boots. We had a great day and no foot issues which I have suffered from in the past."

"I wear Freets 99% of the time because they let my feet function naturally while still giving me the grip and durability I need for the terrain I love. Since 2017 I’ve logged almost 16,000 miles of trail, fell and mountain running in Freets. They have been part of every major step in my running journey: my first race, my sub‑40 10k PB, my first marathon, my first ultra and first 50‑miler at Afoot in Two Dales, completing all 214 Wainwrights, running in blizzards on Kinder Scout and more."

"I've have both the Feldom and Calver 2 - I hiked up and paraglided off the Old Man of Coniston in Feldom 2. The Calver 2s are my go to for long races, it performed very well at the OMM Lite in some very wet conditions and gripped well on grass and rocky climbs. Then again for the 24km Marathon du Mont Blanc in hot, technical conditions. A hard course which was very hot with lots of climbing and rocky trails."
— Ed
"I pulled out the Feldom for a recent 'vert day' where you bag as much vertical elevation as you can in one day! I hit the 3800m mark. I chose Feldom because I knew I'd be on my feet for a long period during the day, and wearing them meant I wouldn't risk foot issues such as blisters or bruised toes. The fit is outstanding for me, especially when it comes to all day comfort."

"Feldom 2 were my main shoe for my 1800 mile thru-hike around the UK. Including along the South West Coast Path, Offa's Dyke, the North Cheshire way, Pennine Way, Dales Way, Coast to Coast and up through Northumberland. They came with me through near-knee deep mud, sandy beaches, rocky scrambles and serious ups and downs and I never felt unsure in my footing. I loved every second!"

"I took the Swales on a few days mountain hiking in the Graubünden region of Eastern Switerland. We skipped the glitz of St. Moritz and headed down the Bregaglia valley, then hiked up to the Albigna mountain hut and the next day over the Casnil Pass to the Forno Valley, between 12 and 1400 metres of ascent and descent. The Swales were ace, it was a decently challenging hike with steep inclines, loose rock, some scrambling, picking through boulder fields and all-in-all some great opportunities for grip testing."
— Marco
"I wore my Salcombes all day for our trip to the pyramids of Giza in the summer. They handled the heat, uneven ground and many steps with ease! I love the slight padding they have compared to my very minimalist sandals. They are SO roomy. My feet are very wide at 23.5x10.5 and high volume but I feel unrestricted in these! Really love them!"
— Gemma
"Keld 2 is a brilliant day shoe for travel, for walking on trails and around the city, especially when it’s hot - my feet didn’t get hot or sweaty at any point! The shoe has a very comfortable fit whether you're in socks and without, and like many of Freet's shoes they feel like slippers that you can walk all day in. They look casual yet stylish and they got many admiring looks from passers by."
