Sizing True (ii)

This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

It is vital that you allow at least 5mm extra at the front of the shoe. For example; your foot is 248mm long. You will likely need size EU40 to allow enough free space at the end of your shoe.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Shoes to heal in

Excellent performance from materials so far. Exceeding comfort expectations. May provide such abundant freedom. Thin soles always take a bit to adjust to. They are unbelievably flexible even if they seem less so at first. Adequate structure provided. Can't recommend running yet I'm still doing so and with more comfort than before.

Very comfy

Very comfortable
I would recommend it to my friends. A bit more formal than I would have liked. Water resistant, easy to clean, looks like it would last a lot. The shoe laces stay tight.

Upgrade on the Citee

I had a pair of the original Citee which are still going, but were starting to wear and come apart a bit at the toes. This upgrade is great! I would say more comfortable and better made. I think the insole is thicker, which means you don't feel the small sharp stones so much, and there is stitching around the toes which improves the build quality. I'm mostly wearing them to and from work, which is about 1 mile each way through town - no problems. It's been dry so not sure how waterproof they are but if I treat them right I don't see that being a problem. Overall I would recommend. Sizing is good too.

there are some improvements to the outsole, but i think there is too much padding and stiffness.

Good shoe

- My feet are L 280mm R 275mm. Width of my feet is around 105mm in the finger area and also in the middle

- Width-wise all freet shoes I tested fit me well.

Citee2 size 45 fits like a 44 in other brands (xero/belenka). The microfiber is thick and rubs on the fingers when bending - Probably gets better with use. Good amount of padding inside makes the boot feel tighter. Comfort 3.5/5 Looks cheaper, less elegant than York2.

- Quality looks to be good on all shoes but the workmanship is not 100% precise. Here and there minor imperfections but nothing major.
- The smell of the materials is that typical Chinese smell when new. So far only Belenka made in EU uses materials what smell nice and natural but that also shows on the price.
