Esk

I absolutely love my Esks. They are everything I hoped for. I am new to barefoot shoes and wanted footwear that covered many bases. Light is very important to me, these are certainly that. I wanted my toes to be free, so much wiggle room. From the moment I put them on they have been so comfortable. I have worn them walking in the countryside and everything in between. I have the ortho insole which makes them that bit more comfy. Fit wise, I should have gone for the size below, I am a UK 5 and a half, I had the 39 size. I should have read the guidance.
One of the surprising benefits is how stable I feel wearing my Freets. I just feel more connected and balanced to the ground.
I did put dubbing on them to make them more water resistant. Made from a lovely quality leather, I basically didn't wear any other shoes until the warm weather came. When I got my second pair of Freet summer shoes .

Hands down the most comfortable, practical yet stylish shoes I’ve worn. They can only be challenged by my Teva Tirras but these have the benefit of keeping the wet out better than sandals. I’d be surprised if I don’t buy another pair of the Esk when my current ones wear out.

I bought these about four weeks back. I have worn them urban, on trails and even in the woods. I bought a size 37 and found these a perfect fit. The comfort of these improves with each wear. Good grip on wet and muddy surfaces. So pleasant to walk about doing everyday things in them. Not one bit of discomfort or breaking in problems have I had. Light and so very comfortable. I really like the knitted bit round the ankle. Not only does it give a snugger fit, but stops any cold getting in and keeps the ankles nice and warm and protected from the wind and chill. Also stops rain drops sneaking in. The are cosey, keep my feet warm, with them not ever overheating, just staying at a nice comfortable temperature. I would without a doubt, buy a pair of these again. These are my favourite Freet shoes and I now have 6 pairs and have just ordered my 7th. I am wearing them more and more and I would say this is leading to these becoming my main wearing boots; well boot shoes.

Esk - size 39 which is my usual size - are my newest Freet shoes that I tried after having found the Ibex too narrow for my feet. Wonderfully comfy shoes that I've worn on muddy light trails through winter and now in summer on rocky hard paths in nature. Thanks Freet team for such a great product.

My husband bought these in February as a water proof dress/every day shoe. He wore them on a recent 10-day rainy Europe trip and didn't have any issues with wet feet or achiness after 12+ hours of walking. He conditions/water proofs them once a month to keep them in good condition. He ordered his normal size and they are roomy enough to account for swelling. They look great dressed up or down and are pretty comfortable.
