This shoe fits large: consider a smaller size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits large to size; if you sometimes have to go down a size, it is more likely that you may need to go down a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Great for my daily running sessions

I am very satisfied with these Skeeby shoes.
Although they are not typical running shoes, they perform very well.

The sizing is correct for me: EU 42, the same as my casual shoes. If you prefer more toe space while running, I would recommend choosing one size up.

I only have two minor drawbacks to mention:

The inner sole of the right shoe did not last very long and deteriorated quickly, losing some material and therefore a bit of comfort.

The outer sole is also quite worn after around 750 km, with a small hole appearing. As a result, water can get in. I would have liked them to last a bit longer, but overall I am still satisfied - and I even bought a new pair! I can continue using them in dry conditions without any issue.

Overall, a good product with solid performance despite these limitations.

So comfortable!

Love these! Bought them as a road-running shoe to replace some worn-out Pace shoes. Took a wee while to get used to a slightly looser fit round the ankle but now really happy with them. They feel very light and the grip is pretty good (except on the occasional manhole cover in wet conditions - but that’s true for pretty much any shoe). Used them in several road races (up to 10 miles) and my feet have felt very comfortable with lots of room. I tend to oscillate between size 44 and 45 in Freets - these are very comfortable in 44.

Space for my toes to spread… ahh

Got these to replace my vivos that were cramping my toes. Wow, what a comfortable and great looking shoe. Even my trendy daughters approved and they got me comfortably around London on a tube strike day in superb comfort. Will be wearing as my casual shoe until the rains come .
