This shoe fits small: consider a larger size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits small to size; if you sometimes have to go up a size, it is more likely that you may need to go up a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Most comfortable and best feeling shoes

I ordered two pair. A gym like shoe- Vibe - and a hiking shoe. Very different from all shoes I have worn. My feet feel safe and happy.

A good day to day shoe!

I bought these for my partner a year ago. He's worn them pretty much continuously for almost everything. Probably because he's worn them so much, the inner lining has started to break down now so I've ordered him another pair for this year because he loved them so much. A good day to day shoe!

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn!

These are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! They are such a delight to wear. I find them perfect for everyday wear and walking around the city, and they can also cope with a bit of light trail just fine. They are very breathable and my feet don't get too hot in them. I love that the insole is removable as it creates a customisable experience depending on what level of 'barefoot' you want - so far I have only worn mine with the insoles but I might experiment with taking them out in the future. I think these would make great gym or running shoes, although I haven't used them for that purpose. I had excellent customer service from Freet when I needed to return a pair that were sent in the wrong colour. Couldn't recommend highly enough!

It’s a really good shoe and very comfortable and roomy but still looking stylish. Great for running. I would however be aware that they are suitable for very dry conditions as even if the ground is slightly wet (not necessarily raining) the water splashes/soaks through to the toes very easily where the rest of the shoe stays dry because being low to the ground the toe is closer to the water than no-barefoot shoes. In my opinion a waterproof toe webbing (like at the back of the shoe would be a good idea) or for the rubber sole to go a bit higher at the front. Would I recommend them still…yes absolutely. Still one of the best shoes I own for dry weather. :) Buy them!!

The Vibe is a great shoe

The Vibe is a great shoe. It has the look of a more conventional sneaker but it's still cooler looking and really comfortable, like all Freet shoes. The more recent Freet models have an extra generous toe box that really works for me. I use this shoe for everything (running, casual, walking). I bought my usual size 43 and it fits great. Love the padding around the ankle and the thick-ish shoe laces. The shoe is stylish without be garish. Well done Freet.
