Sizing Small (i)

This shoe fits small: consider a larger size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits small to size; if you sometimes have to go up a size, it is more likely that you may need to go up a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All UK sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.
Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Love these Citee shoes, I have a pair myself which I wore in all but the snow through the winter, I wear them for casual use and was pleased to find a waterproof barefoot shoe. I've just ordered my son's second pair, he uses them as his school shoes and ended up using them most other times as well. After almost a year of use, one of his soles came lose at the toes so is no longer waterproof, but he needed a bigger size anyway. The amount he wore them I'm not surprised they're still not in as good a condition as mine. The sole isn't as thin as some shoes, but they still are thin and completely flat, and there is lots of toe space. Once you wear them in you won't look back!

My experience is that the "Citee junior" is so good that I want to share all about them!
This is a perfect shoe now when the summer is over and the weather is a bit wet and cold. The shoe is resistant to water, is wide and flexible and easy to take on and off with the elastic laces.
It's not always easy to get the children to use their new shoes, but this time the children wants to use them all the time! One of my children has a wide foot and a high wrist and my other kid has the opposite - yet, the shoe fits both of them. The shoe has an insole that you can remove if you want more contact with the ground or if you want to extend the usage time. The shoe is vegan and made out of microfiber. It is easy to wipe them of with a damp cloth to make them look like new again.
My experience is that the outsole from Freet has a very good grip on the ground, even when it's icey outside ?.
The shoe comes with the sizes 30-36. My kids wear size 30(18,6 cm)to a 18 cm foot and size 32(19,9cm) to a 19,5 cm foot. My reccomendation is that you have 4 mm to maximum 8 mm bigger shoe than the foot. I have tried many other brands, but Freet shoes is a must have in our home!
This is the perfect shoe for school and everyday usage and a plus is that they are very good looking! I have no complaints about this shoe, everything is positive!

Just wanted to let you know that our Citee junior arrived today. Think you may have a couple of Freet converts! Normally school shoe fitting is accompanied by tears, rejection and endless trawling through suitable options before a reluctant compromise. They are currently walking around the house in their junior citees, waxing lyrical about their comfort. According to the youngest, if we really insist he wears shoes, he's happy to put these on. High praise indeed!
Thank you. I think we may need to save up for some junior trainers now.

All the best, and thank you for the great customer service!
